South Tyneside College lunch time protests

The cutbacks proposed by South Tyneside College after their further education budget was slashed by £1.2million – could see 14 lecturers, two members of management and a member of clerical staff made redundant.

The cutbacks could also include increases in teaching hours, and result in cuts to benefits, such as occupational sick pay and maternity pay, and reductions in redundancy payments.

From tomorrow, UCU members at South Tyneside College will use their lunch break to show their anger at cuts.
