“UCU materials are a great way to raise the profile of the union in your workplace. The more the people see the union in their daily lives, the more likely it is that they will think of the union as being something real and relevant to them.
UCU produces a wide range of materials including posters, mugs, bags, pens, notepads and badges. All of these are designed to fit into the workplace and project the union into the daily lives of your colleagues.
It’s easy to use UCU materials to support recruiting activity.” – UCU national website
Workload and Stress
The #UCUmugshot campaign is also designed to raise awareness on the issue of workload and stress. Encourage members to take the breaks they are entitled to, use their UCU mug to get a drink and show us their mugshot. Read the UCU Health and Safety factsheet ‘How long can a lecturer work without being given a break?‘
“Rising workloads – linked to job and funding cuts and the increasing intensity of work in post-16 education – are a growing problem. UCU is committed to campaigning to control workloads and tackle performance management strategies and occupational stress and bullying in the sector” – UCU national website
Raise the profile of UCU while assisting recruitment and raising awareness of workload and stress with our fun new campaign. Take a photo of UCU mugs in action, and encourage everyone with a UCU mug to do the same.
