Keep our NHS public : Rally in Newcastle, Sat 4th Feb
Statement by ‘Keep our NHS public North East’:
NO to the “Sustainability and Transformation Plan” – provide a fully funded NHS – no closures, no cuts, no cover-ups
NO TO PRIVATISATION – restore a NHS that is publicly owned, provided and funded, that is universal, comprehensive and free at the point of use.
It is OUR NHS.
We are told that STP stands for “Sustainability and Transformation Plan” – but, of course, it more accurately spells out “Slash, Trash and Privatise”.

This NORTH EAST MARCH AND RALLY FOR THE NHS is co-hosted by Keep Our NHS Public North East and Peoples Assembly North East, and is organised in association with Unite the Union (NEYH), Unite (Tyneside EEES Branch), Unison (Northern), North East Public Service Alliance, KONP Durham, KONP Gateshead, Save South Tyneside Hospital Campaign, 999 Call for the NHS, North East Green Party, Newcastle upon Tyne Trades Union Council, Communist Party of Britain (Nothern District), Save Rothbury Cottage Hospital Campaign and other local groups and organisations.

Assemble at 11.45am – Framlington Place / Lovers Lane, Newcastle upon Tyne (adjacent to the RVI, opposite the Medical School entrance).

March at 12.15pm
Rally at 1pm at Greys Monument, Newcastle City Centre- with a range of health service, campaign, trade union and political speakers.
