Beth Farhat, Regional Secretary Northern TUC:
Join us for a rally in Newcastle on Wednesday 9th September to raise awareness, show opposition and build the campaign. As well as demonstrating solidarity, protest and passion there will be comedy, music and of course a bite to eat.
The World Headquarters have very kindly given us the use of Curtis Mayfield House, Carliol Square, Newcastle, NE1 6UF for the evening and they will provide some music afterwards. It’s a fully accessible venue.
There will be a buffet available from 6pm and the rally begins at 6.30pm and music afterwards and plenty chance for discussion with friends across the movement as we build towards the demonstration in Manchester in October. You can find out more about that here
There may also be young workers attending who may not know a great deal about trade unions. This is a chance to let them know about the great work unions do across the region, the benefits of joining and why we’re needed more than ever.
