This Thursday the UCU Newcastle University and UCU University of Sunderland branches are holding hustings for the UCU General Secretary election that is underway.

In order to help UCU members make the most informed decision about the national leadership of the union over the next five years, both branches invited Sally Hunt (the incumbent General Secretary) and Jo McNeill, who is standing against Sally in the election, to come speak to us.  Unfortunately, Sally Hunt was unable to accept those invitations as she was unable to find any space in her diary.  However, we are pleased to announce that Jo McNeill has agreed to come to the Newcastle University and Sunderland University branches this Thursday, 16^th of February to talk to members.

UCU Newcastle University branch hustings : 12.30pm – 2pm

The Newcastle University branch hustings will be on Thursday, 16^th of February 12.30pm -2pm Ridley Building 1, room 1.2.04.  (Ridley Building 1 is just between Lovers’ Lane and Claremont Road, next to the roundabout)

UCU University of Sunderland branch hustings : 3pm – 5pm

The Sunderland GS hustings will be on Thursday 16^th of February, 3pm – 5pm, in David Goldman, Room 321A. (St. Peter’s Campus)

UCU members in other Northern Region branches are warmly invited to attend one of these meetings.
