Wednesday 18 May 2022 – Furness College take strike action after an offer of 1% on pay
Speaking about the dispute and the strike action, Amanda Rotherham, UCU Branch Secretary at Furness College, says:
“The support that we had on the picket line was great – and the sun came out for us!”
“The Branch would like to put on record it’s thanks to all those organisations and individuals who have given us support for the action that we are taking. Whether through donations to our strike fund, doughnuts on the picket line, or just beeping your horn when you drove past us, all of the support has been amazing. It has been great to get solidarity messages from so many people across the country via email and social media.”
“Pay is a crucial issue for our members at this moment in time. We know that we deserve more – and that’s what we are fighting for.”
